Maintenance Clinic: Your in shape, is your bike?

Overview- This clinic will focus on bicycle maintenance. I get requests for maintenance clinics all of the time, so here it is.

Presenters:

  • Topics to be covered:

  • Pre-ride check over- these are the things that need done before every ride. Chain lube, tire pressure, safety/wear inspection
  • Road/trail side repairs- We will cover all of the during the ride repairs you may encounter. Flat tires, cut tires, broken chains, and adjustments commonly needed out on your ride.
  • Drive train- We will cover how to install/remove drive train components such as chain and cassette. Also will talk about cleaning and lubrication.
  • Tune-up- Attendees will be shown how to properly do shifting, braking, and basic bearing surface adjustment.
  • Q and A- I can answer any questions related to maintenance you may have, bring your bike if you have anything specifically that needs adjusted.

    Roy Gatesman

    Roy Gatesman is a passionate cyclist who has worked in the bicycle industry for over 12 years. Roy got his start in the bicycle industry as a mechanic at the age of 15 and was immediately hooked on bikes. There was no looking back after that, and the idea of a “real job” was out of the question. Roy enjoys all types of cycling, mountain, road, commuting, cyclecross, touring, dirt jumping, freeriding and motocross. Roy is an expert bicycle mechanic and fitter, and shop rat in general.

    *Anyone attending this clinic who would like to participate in the demonstrations should come dressed in clothing that can get a little dirty.
