Nutrition for cyclists:pre/post ride feeding, recovery and injury prevention

Overview- In this clinic we will be focusing on things you can do to get better race day results, as well as methods for recovery and injury prevention. We will look at nutrition, supplements, yoga, stretching and other topics to keep your body running like the fine tuned machine that it is.

Topics to be covered:
Pre-ride/race fueling- Dustin Folger will be covering good nutrition practices related to cycling. He will cover eating habits for the days leading up to your event, fueling on the day of the event, and recovery.
Flexibility- Jim Dammon will speak on the importance of flexibility related to cycling. Jim will speak and demonstrate yoga and other techniques to increase on the bike flexibility
Recovery- Jim and Dustin will both speak on good recovery techniques. Jim will talk about the use of holistic supplements and how they can improve your cycling experience..
Injury prevention- Presenters will talk about techniques, nutrition, and supplements to help stop the injuries before the occur.
Q and A- Bring your questions for these guys, I know I have a few for them to answer

Jim Damman has a master’s degree in acupuncture from TAI Sophia in Columbia, Maryland. He is a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado and on the faculty of the Institute of Taoist Education and Acupuncture in Louiseville, Colorado. Jim has enjoyed cycling for over 30 years in a variety of capacities: club rider, mechanic and bicycle salesman, amateur road racing, and loaded touring. He would like to share tips on staying healthy and happy as you increase your fitness.

I am a cat 4 road racer and have been riding for the last 4 years and racing for the last 3 years, prior to that I was a runner of many years. In college I was a student athletic trainer for the CSU football team 2000-2006 and an intern with the Denver Nuggets for 2002-2004.
