Join us for the ACA Rist Hill Climb and Citizens Road Ride! Citizen riders leave the starting line first, with the ACA racers to follow. The racing begins 7:30am Sharp with all ACA categories leaving Masonville for a gradual climb towards Horsetooth Park. At the Park entrance you will have a short decent and its back to a short climb to the lake lookout area. Then it’s back to descending the back side of the Horsetooth lake to the small town of Stout. From Stout you will make your way on a mostly flat trek around the south end of the lake then heading north on the east side of Horsetooth. Don’t get comfortable with the fast fun flat your next turn is on Centennial Drive. (Right after the first Damn Feed Zone/Bottle Drop - Team Supported) Turning north on Centennial you will start your journey of crossing the Horsetooth Damns. After your last Damn climb you will have a short but fast decent on the north end of the lake and a fast couple miles of flat into Bellvue. Turning west at Bellvue for your last 13 miles of racing (Bellvue Feed Zone/Bottle Drop - Fully Supported) From Bellvue you will have a couple miles of gradual accent and a very short drop into the base of the Rist Canyon Look for the 9.3 sign to start your mental note to the finish the 26.71 mile race to the top of Rist Canyon. (every mile will be marked) Spectators and previous rider/racers are welcome to line the top part of Rist Canyon to watch the following race categories battle it out on the final last switchbacks of the race. A tip top race finish with full sag station/port o lets awaits you. Relax and be a spectator or cheer your team along to the finish line. Bring your cow bells and chalk chairs & team tent!
Attention All Racers: Your race entry also pays for the second leg of the citizens ride, fuel up at the top of Rist Canyon, take in the views and watch as the bike action. Cheer as your friends hit the finish line. Gather your friends and finish off your race day by joining in on the last 19 miles of the citizens ride down the famously fun and super smooth Buckhorn Canyon. This takes you right back to the starting line where you can hang out and enjoy lunch and relax with a beverage of your choice. Live Music, Big Top Tent, Misting to keep cool, BBQ, Oskar Blue’s Brewery awaits you upon your arrival in Masonville, Colorado. Family Friendly, Picnic Grass Area!
August 28th - ACA Race Packet Pickup/Registration
The 2009 Fort Collins Cycling Festival kicks off in grand fashion Friday, August 28th with Race pre-registration and packet pick-up will run from 4:30pm – 7:30pm. at the old town square (follow the signs from the bike kiosk). Day of Race Registration 5:30am - 8:00am. Pre-Registered: Number & Packet pickup 30 minutes before your race time!
Rist Canyon Hill Climb Race Welcomes US Hand Cycling Racers
Hand Cycling Category Race leaves 7am from Bellvue Colorado for the Inaugural 13 miles of Rist Canyon Hand Cycling Hill Climb Race. One escort rider per racer allowed for support!
Follow the parking signs at the bottom of Bellvue Hand Cyclist will be allowed down the canyon to their cars.

2010 Rist Canyon Road Race is back plus? Stage Race for Sure!
2010 the Rist Canyon Road Race will be back, Due to USAC Nationals we have our hands full. Look for the 2010 Rist Canyon Road Race to continue to feature the best road racers from around Colorado and beyond. Competing handlebar to handlebar through some of the most rugged passes in the Rockies, with 62.72 miles and over 7,000 feet of climbing. We will be adding a TT on Friday and an Old Town Criterium on Saturday! This is the same Criterium as the Nationals Course.
